The Sea Gull - “A Woman of the Sea” is the first book ever published about Edna Purviance, and centers around the surprising story of the only “lost” film ever produced by Chaplin's Studio. Directed by Josef von Sternberg, Sea Gull starred Edna Purviance, Gayne Whitman, Eve Sothern (also spelled Southern), and Raymond Bloomer.

The book is 132 pages, full color, and features over 100 photographs never published before, including over 50 recently-discovered production stills from the film. (Prints that Edna Purviance personally kept.)

The Sea Gull photos are presented in a special 52 page gallery, along with the original 1926 title narrative. It includes background leading up to the filming, a glimpse into the actual filming and the aftermath to the year 1933.

February 15, 2010, all books sold are Revised Third Editions. First and Second Edition are retired.
